The Environmental Evaluation and Control Agency (OEFA), an entity attached to the Ministry of Environment, has initiated environmental supervision, due to the presence of oil substances in the submareal area of Playa Playnas, located in front of the Talara refinery, in the district of Parinas, province of Talara, department of Piura.
The supervision carried out by the OEFA professionals, together with the representatives of the pescators of the Bay of Parinas, aims to verify the facts related to the environmental emergency, determine the responsibility and evaluate the impact generated.
Among other actions, the OEFA plans to take seawater samples for subsequent analysis in a laboratory accredited by the National Quality Institute (INACAL), in order to obtain precise results on the environmental impact.
The Environmental Supervision Authority will inform in a timely manner about the results of the actions that are being carried out.
