The Environmental Assessment and Oversight Agency (OEFA), an agency attached to the Ministry of the Environment, ordered three administrative measures to the company Combustibles del Oriente S.A.C., to stop the discharge of untreated wastewater from the service station owned by it, located at kilometer 6,200 of the Federico Basadre highway, Calleria district, Coronel Portillo province, Ucayali department.
During the supervision of the service station, the OEFA supervisory team ordered the company to stop the discharge of domestic and industrial effluents from its hydrocarbon marketing activity, until it proves the implementation of an effective treatment system.
It also ordered the cleaning of the soil affected by the discharge and accumulation of wastewater; and the segregation, storage, transportation and final disposal of the hazardous and non-hazardous solid and liquid waste generated.
The OEFA will continue to monitor compliance with these measures and promote compliance with environmental regulations throughout the country.
