About 30000 members of the National Police will join the 2020 Safe School Plan promoted by the Ministry of Education Minedu in partnership with the Ministry of Interior to ensure the safety of more than 8 million schoolchildren across the country.During the presentation of the plan at the Alfonso Ugarte educational institution in the San Isidro district the Minister of Education Martn Benavides called on the citizens to support the actions implemented for the Good Start of the 2020 School Year BIAE scheduled for March 16.Everyones commitment is necessary to redouble street safety and fight violence so that our schoolchildren study calmly and confident that they will achieve their educational development that is why we are working in a multisectoral manner with various ministries to meet the goals of the BIAE 2020 he said.Police work will be based on the prevention intervention investigation safety and control of vehicular traffic to protect students teachers and administrative staff of public and private educational institutions before during and after school activities.The 2020 Safe School Plan will be supported by the School Self-Protection Brigades made up of the principal teachers parents neighborhood boards school police officers and members of the National Police who will be responsible for identifying the security problems of each school and establish an alert system to preserve the integrity of the students.The Interior Minister Carlos Morn stressed that the National Police will intensify patrol operations on foot and motorized to ensure the normal development of school activities in public and private schools. Likewise preventive actions will be developed at points considered critical.Moran added that the security plan will involve all the personnel of the police stations the Emergency Division the Special Services Unit the Green Squadron and the Terna Group.
