π Tender Overview
The Provincial Municipality of San Roman, through Special Projects, together with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) mission, the GITEC consultancy, the National Urban Sanitation Program (PNSU) and representatives of SedaJuliaca, carried out field visits in Juliaca to supervise the progress of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and storm drainage projects.
Regarding the WWTP, the current status of the pumping chambers was verified, confirming that they do not have an odor control system, a situation that will be corrected with the execution of the project, and will also include the installation of generator sets and other improvements to guarantee its operation. Information was also collected on the planned primary collectors and the operation of the current wastewater treatment plant in Chilla was evaluated, and the alternatives for the wastewater discharge pipe in the low areas of Juliaca were analyzed.
The data obtained will be used for the pre-investment phase at the profile level, which is expected to be completed in August of this year. These studies, carried out by the GITEC consultancy and supervised by the PNSU, contemplate an estimated investment of 326 million dollars, financed by the IDB.
Regarding storm drainage, priority areas were inspected, including homes installed in the marginal strip of the Torococha River, which will be used as the main collector. It is expected that in 8 months the technical file for the balance of the drainage work will be completed. The estimated investment for this project amounts to 211.13 million dollars. It is expected that in September the viability of the project will be achieved and the financing with the IDB will be finalized.
