Training workshops have started this month. Municipalities have until March 31 of this year to comply with the current regulations. Provincial and district municipalities throughout the country have until March 31 of this year to report information on their solid waste management activities carried out during the past year. In addition, they must comply with the report for the fourth quarter of 2024. This is in compliance with article 13 of Supreme Decree No. 001-2022-MINAM, amending the Regulations of the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Law.
According to the General Directorate of Solid Waste of the Ministry of the Environment (Minam), the aforementioned annual report is recorded through the Information System for Solid Waste Management (Sigersol) (https://sistemas.minam.gob.pe/SigersolMunicipal/#/panel).
Likewise, the SIGERSOL Quarterly Report is available for the registration of information until the last business day of each quarter, as detailed in the following table:

The Minam consolidates the recorded data and presents the results in the National Report on the State of the Environment, in the National Environmental Information System (Sinia) and in the dynamic information reports of the Sigersol, among other means, which are available to citizens via the institutional portal.
Another report that municipalities must make through the aforementioned system is the information of the formalized recycling organizations and their members. This has a term of no more than ten business days, counted from the issuance of the Certificate of Formalization, for its inclusion in the National Registry of Recyclers, according to the established period and frequency (D.S. No. 001-2022-MINAM).
Training workshops
The training workshops led by Minam specialists will cover topics such as the procedures, characteristics, use and importance of the Municipal Sigersol according to the following schedule:
- Monday, February 10, 2025: municipalities of Ancash, Pasco, Madre de Dios, Junin, Tumbes and Lambayeque.
- Tuesday, February 11, 2025: municipalities of Puno, Ayacucho, Arequipa and Moquegua.
- Wednesday, February 12, 2025: municipalities of Ica, Cusco, Apurimac, Huanuco and Ucayali.
- Thursday, February 13, 2025: municipalities of Cajamarca, La Libertad, Lima and Callao.
- Friday, February 14, 2025: municipalities of San Martin, Huancavelica, Tacna, Piura, Amazonas and Loreto.
Participants must register in advance through this link. After that, the link to enter the virtual workshop will be sent to the email addresses indicated in the registration. Registrations can be made up to 24 hours before each meeting is held.
