30 directors and 50 teachers will be recognized for their involvement in actions to promote an environmental culture in their institution and in society. The Provincial Municipality of Piura, by order of Mayor Gabriel Madrid, will recognize the environmental promoters who participated in the activities of the EDUCCA program, corresponding to the 2024 Work Plan. In total, 30 directors and 50 teachers will be recognized, based on their involvement in actions to promote an environmental culture in their institution and in society.
The EDUCCA program, belonging to the Environmental Management Department, is an ecological initiative that seeks to generate favorable conditions for the defense of nature, through the formation of an eco-friendly culture. To guarantee joint work, with active involvement of society, representatives of the municipal program carried out the accreditation of environmental promoters, who were in charge of leading, after a training process, the activities planned in each school.
The environmental promoters that the commune has trained are teachers and directors of Piuran institutions, such as the I.E. 14001 Magdalena Seminario de Llirod, I.E. Ann Goulden, I.E. Victor Rosales Ortega, I.E. San Miguel, I.E.P. Crnl. Jose Joaquin Inclan, I.E. Our Lady of Lourdes, I.E. Enrique Lopez Albujar, I.E. Parcemon Saldarriaga Montejo, I.E. JEC Los Algarrobos, I.E. Federico Helguero Seminario, I.E.P. San Antonio, I.E.I. No. 1356 My World of Colors - Ejidos de Huan, I.E. No. 024 of Consuelo de Velasco, I.E.P. The Triumph, I.E. Selmira de Varona, I.E.P. Our Lady of Mercy, I.E. No. 387 - Vicus, I.E.P. Saint Andres College, I.E. Bacilio Ramirez Pena and I.E.P. Maria Montessori.
The Municipal EDUCCA Program, in cooperation with environmental promoters, carried out various activities, such as the construction of a biogarden, a day of creating irrigation systems, a poetry contest for Tree Day, an environmental route in Kurt Beer Park, cycling in the Dry Forest and tree planting campaigns in different schools.
For this year, the current municipal administration hopes to greatly exceed the number of activities carried out in 2024, counting on the active involvement of environmental promoters, who are one of the strengths of Mayor Gabriel Madrids ecological policies. The Municipal EDUCCA Program will continue working on promoting an environmental culture in society.
