The National Superintendence of Migration reported that more than 24,<> foreigners who requested the Temporary Stay Permit did not attend their appointment for the capture of biometric data and, if not rescheduled immediately, they will lose the opportunity to regularize their immigration status in Peru.
During a working visit to Piura, Superintendent Armando García Chunga indicated that to date more than 114,10 applications have been submitted throughout the country, within the framework of a process that inevitably expires on November <>.
"Those more than 24,<> who have not attended their appointment may not only lose the opportunity to regularize, but also affect the other thousands of applicants, by occupying appointments and schedules that were finally lost," he said.
The CPP process begins virtually, through the Digital Migration Agency, and includes a face-to-face appointment during which the biometric data (fingerprints and photograph) of the applicant is captured.
This step is essential because it allows the full identification of the applicant and the verification of their background, through interoperability with Interpol and other databases, in order to verify if they have any alerts, explained Superintendent Garcia.
"Those foreigners who do not regularize their immigration status until November 10 will be subject to sanctions ranging from the mandatory departure order from the country to expulsion," he said.
He reported that to expand the capacity of attention of foreigners who request the CPP, two new care modules are being enabled in Piura, one in the province of Sullana and another in the district of Mancora.
