The National Authority for Transparency and Access to Public Information (ANTAIP) and the Center for Justice and Human Rights Studies (CEJDH) of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MINJUSDH) organized the International Conference "Advances and Challenges in Transparency and Access to Public Information", held on October 23 and 24, in which more than 300 people participated.
The international conference featured the speakers Anahí Casadesús de Mingo, Coordinator of the Official Master's Degree in Archival and Records Management at the Autonomous University of Barcelona; Manuel Fernández Salmerón, PhD in Law from the University of Bologna; Ana Túlia de Macedo, National Secretary for Access to Information at the National Secretariat for Access to Information of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Union, Brazil; José Luis Piñar Mañas, PhD in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid; Jaime Moreno Valle, Senior Legal Officer, Department of International Law. National experts and prominent civil society representatives were also present.
It should be noted that topics were addressed in person and virtually related to document management, open data, reuse of information and artificial intelligence. The role of transparency in the fight against corruption, the limits of personal data protection in transparency obligations and the strengthening of guarantor bodies were also addressed.
At this international conference, ANTAIP and the Office of the Comptroller General of the Union of Brazil, through its National Secretariat for Access to Information, signed an important Inter-institutional Cooperation Agreement.
The objective of this agreement is to coordinate and execute strategies and activities aimed at strengthening transparency and access to information, promoting the development of cooperation projects and actions that will be planned and implemented jointly, for the benefit of their countries, respecting their normative frameworks, regulations and processes.
Present at the signing of the agreement were Ana Túlia de Macedo, National Secretary for Access to Information at the National Secretariat for Access to Information of the Office of the Comptroller General of the Union - Brazil; the director of the National Authority for Transparency and Access to Public Information, Eduardo Luna Cervantes; Guillermo Valdivieso Payva, Chief of Staff and Marcia Aguila Salazar, Director of the Directorate of Transparency and Access to Public Information of the Ministry of Human Rights.
