πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

This year, Pronabec improved its services based on evidence obtained from research. In addition, activities were carried out to strengthen the academic profile of its beneficiaries.Transforming lives and creating more opportunities. In 2024, the Ministry of Education, through the National Scholarship and Educational Credit Program (Pronabec), has managed to ensure that more beneficiaries have access to activities and platforms that allow them to improve their academic and professional profile, and to be closer to professional job offers. With this, Pronabec reaffirms its commitment to support the growth of its beneficiaries and contribute to the development of the country.

Thanks to a comprehensive model of socio-emotional support and strategic alliances with institutions and companies, the program strengthened its services based on rigorous research that ensures the impact and effectiveness of its actions.

Volunteers who inspire and continuous learning
One of the most successful initiatives was the Talents in Action Volunteer Program, where scholarship holders and graduates provide mentoring to guide new beneficiaries in their adaptation and academic progress. The 2024 results reflect a notable growth:

Mentoring volunteering:
- Peer and group mentoring: higher cycle scholarship holders help new students with knowledge and tools. This year, participation grew by 282% (1065) in volunteers and 261% (4167) in beneficiaries.
- Professional mentoring: graduates provide guidance to those who are about to finish their studies and enter the job market. Here, the growth was 4% (58) in volunteers and 68% (94) in beneficiaries.

Guidance and counseling volunteering: Psychology graduates support students with emotional difficulties that may affect their permanence in their studies. Volunteers grew by 275% (30), while beneficiaries grew by 113% (520).

Another successful tool is Aprende+, a platform that contains 26 short virtual courses, which beneficiaries access progressively as they advance in their career. In 2024, 82,408 beneficiaries completed all the courses, a figure that represents 95% of the target audience, which in turn was 13% higher than in 2023.

In addition, academic activities were carried out in favor of the beneficiaries in different parts of the country, such as a masterclass on public policies at the Universidad Peruana Union, in Puno, and the leadership bootcamp at the Universidad ESAN, in Lima.

Career platform and strategic alliances
To enhance the professional profile of its beneficiaries, Pronabec implements the ExpoTalentos tool, a virtual job platform that connects its graduated and soon-to-graduate beneficiaries with employers. Compared to last year, in 2024 we have obtained:
21% (41,043) more registered beneficiaries who have published their resume.
111% (628) more registered companies that publish job offers.
128% (710) more published job offers.

In addition, the Education Ally strategy grew this year with the signing of 3 new agreements with private universities, which donated academic scholarships to Beca 18 finalist applicants. 7 new alliances or inter-institutional agreements have also been signed with other entities to continue providing more facilities and opportunities to Peruvians.

Improvements based on research
In 2024, Pronabec implemented its 2024-2026 research agenda to generate rigorous and relevant knowledge about the design, implementation and evaluation of effective policies. Nine research studies were published, some of which and their main results are:
Incidence of personal, family, school and geographic factors in the registration to Beca 18, ordinary modality: young people with better grades, those who have one or two parents at home, and those who have classmates who are scholarship recipients or who are suitable for the competition at school, are more likely to register.
Beyond education: analysis of the trajectory of Beca 18 graduates, a qualitative approach: the scholarship allowed better job opportunities, a life with better basic services, and the beneficiaries plan to continue their academic training.
Survey of Graduated Scholarship Holders (EBEG 2023): 76% of graduated scholarship holders, who come from vulnerable sectors, entered the labor market and contribute to the country with their knowledge.

Based on the results obtained, Pronabec has strengthened the dissemination of its scholarship and educational loan competitions with new strategies, which has favored the increase in applications. Meanwhile, to disseminate and bring the results obtained closer, a Pronabec repository was created, in which the studies have been published to bring them closer to the population; they are also in the Minedu repository.

Pronabec will continue to give more opportunities, such as the 20,000 scholarships to the winners of Beca 18-2025.
