The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MINJUSDH) invites citizens to provide their input to the preliminary version of the Second Periodic Report of the Peruvian State to be submitted to the United Nations Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families (CMW Committee).
This consultation is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the "Intersectoral Protocol for the Participation of the Peruvian State in the Systems for the International Protection of Human Rights", approved by Supreme Decree No. 010-2020-JUS, which in its point 5.2.3. On the consolidation of information and preparation of the draft report, it provides that the draft reports to the Treaty Bodies shall be published on the MINJUSDH web portal, in order to inform the process of participation with the bodies of the international human rights protection system and to receive the opinions of civil society.
The draft "Second Periodic Report of the Peruvian State in compliance with Article 73 of the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families" includes information from August 2013 to March 2024. The document is organized on the basis of the list of issues prepared by the Committee prior to the submission of the second report (CMW/C/PER/QPR/2). The final version of the document should not exceed 21,200 words.
In addition to its pre-publication, meetings will be held with the sectors concerned and the Ombudsman's Office, in order to arrive at a new version of the periodic report, to be presented and approved by the National Human Rights Council.
