The Deputy Minister of Human Rights and Access to Justice of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (MINJUSDH), Luigino Pilotto Carreno, and the Deputy Minister of Interculturality of the Ministry of Culture, Jose Rivadeneyra Orihuela, constituted the "Junín Regional Table for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders", in the city of Satipo.
"Within the framework of the Multisectoral Commission of the Central Jungle DS 040-2023-PCM, the constitution of this regional table allows proposing and supervising the implementation of actions for the sustainable development of indigenous or native peoples," said Deputy Minister Pilotto.
He also added that the constitution of this regional table is the result of a series of efforts and agreements promoted by the MINJUSDH, but it also represents the commitment of all actors such as the Regional Association of Indigenous Peoples of the Central Jungle and the Regional Organization of Amazonian Nationalities of the Central Jungle, as well as other organizations of indigenous peoples.
Finally, as a real sign of fulfillment of the commitments, the Deputy Minister of Human Rights, Luigino Pilotto, announced the inauguration of the first Mega Alegra with an intercultural focus in the Central Jungle to be held on March 26 in the city of Chanchamayo.
It should be noted that the event was attended by the Director of Human Rights Policies and Management of the Ministry of Human Rights, Ángel González; the Deputy Manager of Population and Indigenous Peoples of the Regional Government of Junín, Clodoaldo Hilario; the Senior Prosecutor and Coordinator of the National Criminal Prosecutor's Office Specialized in Human Rights and Interculturality, Raquel Cárdenas; the Human Rights Officer of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Carlos Pinacho, as well as representatives of entities participating in the Intersectoral Mechanism; leaders and organizations of indigenous peoples.
