📋 Tender Overview
CIRAS certifies whether there is no archaeological evidence on the surface in a given area. The Ministry of Culture approved the new Guide for the issuance of the Certificate of Nonexistence of Archaeological Remains on the Surface (CIRAS), which establishes the guidelines that must be followed by the administrators (natural or legal persons) to prepare and present the technical file in order to request the issuance of the CIRAS. The document, among other aspects, includes concrete examples of plans, maps, technical data tables, descriptive report and templates.
With this guide, it is also sought to update the technical criteria that the personnel of the Ministry of Culture must observe during the evaluation of the documentation presented, to standardize the evaluation of requests and provide predictability during the qualification process of a request for the issuance of the CIRAS.
The guide is mandatory for natural and/or legal persons who request the issuance of a CIRAS before the Ministry of Culture. This new version is generated from the modifications made to the Regulation of Archaeological Interventions, with the objective, among others, of improving the experience of the administrator in harmony with the protection of cultural heritage.
CIRAS certifies that in a given area, there is no archaeological evidence on the surface.
