The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate Romero, proposed to the company Cosco Shipping, in charge of the multipurpose port terminal of Chancay, the signing of an agreement so that young people and adults in the area have access to some of the 700 jobs that the company will generate in the short term.
During the visit he made this Friday to the works of the megaproject, he said that the portfolio in charge would be responsible for training this population in the specialties that are required, through the Employment Center of the MTPE.
He explained that this is the new tone that is printing his management, at the request of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, to generate decent employment for the population in situations of socio-labor vulnerability. In this way, Maurate said, the professional demand will rise in this area of the small north.
Maurate Romero said that part of his role as head of the MTPE is to bring supply closer to labor demand, in a joint work with companies, such as Cosco Shipping, and the portfolio under his charge.
The minister, who was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Employment and Labor Training, Jesús Baldeón Vásquez, and members of his work team, said that he made this working visit with his officials to operationalize the ideas that were presented at the meeting.
The head of the MTPE was received by the deputy general manager of Cosco Shipping, Admiral Gonzalo Ríos Polastri, who explained that the company needs 700 workers for the construction of the Megaport.
In addition, the work will generate some 7,500 direct and indirect jobs in the area in the medium term and a total of 20,<> through the Chancay Logistics and Industrial Complex (Chancay Park).
The Chancay Multipurpose Port Terminal has two components: Chancay Multipurpose Port Terminal and the Chancay Logistics Activities Zone, both components will be connected by land through an underground viaduct.
Cosco Shipping will invest $ 1,213 million in the first stage of the mega-project and its final conception will exceed 3,600 million dollars.
Dual system
Minister Daniel Maurate said that the training will be done through the dual system, one of the axes of his management, to strengthen training for labor demand, in articulation and harmony with private enterprise.
