This, during a meeting with hundreds of young people, to whom he presented the Mi Carrera and Capacita-T platforms, as well as the Dataton 2024 Labora Tech, Ideaton for Youth Employment and Activa-T contests. The Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion, Daniel Maurate, visited Huancayo, in the Junin region, with the purpose of meeting with young people from various universities and institutes to present them with initiatives aimed at improving youth employability in the country. Among these, Mi Carrera and Capacita-T stand out, platforms designed to optimize occupational adaptation and the development of digital skills.
Likewise, the presentation of the Ideaton for Youth Employment was held, a national contest that will reward the best ideas to face the challenges related to the insertion of young people in the formal labor market. Also highlighted was the Activa-T contest, in collaboration with Fondoempleo, designed to finance proposals that contribute to the development of labor skills and improve productivity in employment.
On this occasion, the presentation of the Dataton 2024 Labora Tech was also held: Co-creating the future with Artificial Intelligence, a national contest that seeks to involve young people in the creation of technological solutions to address labor problems.
Minister Maurate invited participants to use emerging technologies to face challenges such as verifying regulatory compliance and the labor inclusion of people with disabilities. A company or a country that discriminates against a person with a disability is not a healthy company or a healthy country. We need to incorporate all people with disabilities into the formal labor market, he said.
The Datathon is held in collaboration with institutions such as the European Union, Google, Huawei and the University of Piura, so participants can win prizes that include trips to strengthen the winning proposals, based on successful experiences in Latin America or Europe, as well as invitations to a Google Day at the Google Peru offices. In addition, Huawei Cloud Kits and vouchers for Google Cloud certifications will be awarded.
The Datathon not only seeks to solve specific problems, but also to contribute to positive social change. At the end of the day, the head of the MTPE called on young people to actively participate in this initiative and shared an inspiring final reflection: There is a world of opportunities, there is much to do, and if we make the decision to do things well, I am sure that you will be the pride of your family and your country, he emphasized.
With these initiatives, in front of hundreds of students from the National University of Central Peru, the Technological University of Peru, Continental University and the Santiago Antunez de Mayolo Institute, the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion reaffirms its commitment to youth, seeking to build a more inclusive and productive future.
