The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), through the planetGOLD Peru project implemented in conjunction with UNDP, will promote financial products for formalized and formalized artisanal miners, in partnership with Caja Ica, in order to facilitate their access to credit and strengthen their activities within a framework of sustainability and harmony with health and the environment.
In this regard, loans are being prepared for small-scale miners, formalized artisanal miners and those in the process of formalization who are constituted as natural or legal persons.
Likewise, the credits will contribute to the development of alternative or complementary businesses by the manual gold sorters that are registered in the register of Third Natural Persons and Manual Gold Selectors administered by the General Directorate of Mining Formalization-DGFM.
These measures are aligned in compliance with and implementation of the services of the National Multisectoral Policy for Small Mining and Artisanal Mining, promoted by MINEM through the DGFM.
These actions seek to promote business and financial development, as well as improve the value chain of small and artisanal miners at the national level, which constitutes an advantage within the formalization process and the verification of the effectiveness of management tools and public policies.
