📋 Tender Overview
Investing in science, technology and innovation (STI) can increase economic growth by up to 2% per year ("Investment in Science, Technology and Innovation", World Bank, 2010) and a well-equipped laboratory can be the starting point for this: it is the stage where researchers can perform more precise and reliable experiments, develop new technologies faster and train the next generation of scientists.
With this in mind, Prociencia —Concytec's executing body— launches the Strengthening of Laboratories call, which aims to strengthen the capacities and technological competencies of the laboratories of the public entities that make up the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (Sinacti), through the acquisition of specialized equipment and staff training. This competition is part of the project to Improve and Expand STI Services to strengthen Sinacti.
Within the framework of this call, at least thirty (30) grants will be awarded for up to S / 1'851 515, with a maximum execution period of 30 months. Priority will be given to the choice of laboratories dedicated to research in areas related to the low-carbon and climate-resilient economy sectors; Health; and Digital Economy and Information and Communication Technology (ICTs)
The funding is aimed at:
· Public universities licensed by SUNEDU
· Public research institutes (IPIs)
· Centers for Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITEs) attached to the Technological Institute of Production
· INACAL (Metrology Laboratories)
This, in order to strengthen with specialized equipment for use in science, technology and innovation activities; promote technological independence, increase the development of inter-institutional collaborative work and strengthen research networks; as well as training the specialized personnel of the entities that make up Sinacti in the handling of the equipment, as well as in the management of the laboratory.
