π Tender Overview
The Ministry of Health (Minsa), through the National Institute of Health (INS), has launched an important initiative to combat dengue in two hotspots in the country. The INS mobile laboratories, "Kimsa Maskaq" and "Kuru Maskaq", have begun operations at the Huacho Regional Hospital and the CayaltΓ Health Center, in Chiclayo, respectively, to strengthen the molecular diagnosis of this disease.
The mobile laboratory "Kimsa Maskaq" in Huacho and the "Kuru Maskaq" in CayaltΓ have a capacity that allows them to process more than 90 molecular tests per day, reporting the results in the NETLABv2 system in less than 24 hours. This rapid response is crucial for the effective management of dengue cases and the prevention of its spread.
In Huacho, during the launch ceremony, the executive director of the Regional Hospital, Dr. Edwin Suarez Alvarado, said: "This mobile laboratory represents a significant advance in our ability to detect and manage dengue in our region. We thank Minsa and the INS for their support in this important initiative."
Meanwhile, in Chiclayo, biologist Karla Cuquian Chacaliaza, commissioner of the INS, said: "We are committed to providing the necessary support to the most vulnerable communities, bringing accurate and timely diagnoses where they are needed most. These mobile laboratories are a vital tool in epidemic prevention."
Mobile laboratories have specialized areas for sample preparation, extraction, and amplification, ensuring responsiveness even in locations where access to diagnostics might be limited.
The mobile laboratory "Kimsa Maskaq" will be present at the Huacho Regional Hospital for 13 days, while the "Kuru Maskaq" will remain at the CayaltΓ Health Center for the same period. As part of his team, biologists, laboratory technicians and all the necessary equipment to carry out molecular tests for the diagnosis of dengue have been transferred.
This initiative reinforces Minsa's commitment, through the INS, to guarantee an optimal level of care for patients with warning signs of dengue and the protection of the vulnerable population against this disease.
