Specialists of the Especial Project Majes Siguas, Peims - Autodema, of the Regional Government of Arequipa, carried out an evaluation of the hydraulic infrastructure of the Bocatomas of Tuti and Pitay, located in the province of Caylloma. The state of the facilities and operability was verified.
During the inspection, the structural and operational state of the metal gates was evaluated, as well as the operation of the stationary cranes, used for the maintenance and operation of the system. With the information collected, the presentation of plans for preventive and corrective maintenance will be raised, for the benefit of the farmers and users of the system.
Peims Executive Manager - Autodema, Duberly Otazu Garcia, said that this type of inspections ensure the safety and efficiency of the system and thus ensure that water reaches proper conditions and quantities to the productive sectors.
The inspection and maintenance of our hydraulic infrastructure is key to guaranteeing its long -term operation. These inspections allow us to evaluate the status of the critical components and take appropriate measures to avoid failures that may affect the distribution of water, said the executive manager.
From the Regional Government of Arequipa, improvement actions will continue to be implemented to optimize the use of water resource and thus ensure its availability for local economic activities.
The inspection was carried out by the Technical Team of the Water Resource Management Management, as part of the actions scheduled within the framework of the Majes Project Transfer Agreement follows the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation - Midagri. Inspections will be periodic to fulfill the proper maintenance of the system.
