In an emotional ceremony, the regional governor of Piura, Luis Neyra León, together with the president of the Valle de Los Incas Users Commission, Raul Carmen Villegas, laid the first stone of the work to improve the irrigation infrastructure of the T-28 Valle de Los Incas Canal, in the district of Tambogrande.
"We have prioritized works in the district of Tambogrande to achieve its development. I know your needs closely and we are focused on reducing your shortcomings. In this speech, I am going to ask for your support in terms of oversight so that this work is well executed and has a long useful life," said Luis Neyra León, regional governor of Piura.
In this way, with an investment of more than 15 million soles, the Piura Regional Government will benefit families in the sectors of Huáscar, Atahualpa, Túpac Inca, Manco Capac and Sinchi Roca.
The improvement of the irrigation infrastructure of the T-28 Valle de Los Incas canal has been awaited for more than 40 years, and will increase agricultural productivity in the area of influence where there are hectares of permanent mango and lemon crops; as well as cocoa, pima cotton, papaya, tamarind; among others.
The work includes the improvement of the irrigation infrastructure of 9,467.23 meters of the "L2 T28" canal and 5,511.30 meters of the "L3 Túpac Inca-Huáscar" canal, which together represents a total goal of 14,978.53 m. Thus, the total length of the canal to be intervened, counting the works of art involved, amounts to 16.22 kilometers.
The ceremony was also attended by the regional director of Agriculture, Paul Loaiza; the Deputy Mayor of Valle de Los Incas, Ysaúl Pulache Viera; the first councillor of the Municipality of Tambogrande, Nora Sánchez León; among other authorities and officials.
