Four new dams for the Moquegua region. As a result of the sustained meeting between the regional governor of Moquegua, Gilia Gutierrez and the Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Angel Manero, today the inclusion of the Coralaque, Cuturi, Tambillo and Paltuture dams was formalized in the portfolio of irrigation projects to expand the agricultural border and benefit producers throughout the country.
During the meeting sustained with Midagri, the regional governor stressed the importance of executing hydraulic infrastructure projects to meet the demand for this resource for agricultural and population use, supporting the proposal of the Moquegua Water Resources Regional Commission of Water Resources that proposed to Midagri the prioritization of 4 dams for the Moquegua region.
For their execution, both authorities promised to sign a Framework Agreement, where the technical assistance of the Subsectorial Irrigation Program (PSI) and the National Water Authority (ANA) will be included.
Likewise, both authorities were committed to the execution of a water planting and harvesting program, through the construction of qochas in the high Andean areas of the Moquegua region.
For this year, the construction of 60 Qochas, 30 in charge of Midagri, was committed through the Sierra Azul Funda Executing Unit (UEFSA) of Midagri and the other 30 by the Regional Government of Moquegua, through the Special Regional Pasto Grande project.
Finally, Midagri and the Regional Government of Moquegua signed an inter -institutional cooperation agreement for technical assistance, training and improvement of the operational capacity of the regional agricultural management of Moquegua for the legal physical sanitation of agricultural property and rural cadastre that will allow optimizing the cadastre processes and degree of agricultural land, for the benefit of the farmers of the region.
