📋 Tender Overview
In a period of 47 months, Arequipa and the Macro Southern region of the country will have the new and modern Goyeneche Hospital of Level III-1, which will be executed under the government modality to Government with France. This ambitious project will include the elaboration of the technical file, the contingency plan, the construction of infrastructure and the implementation of the latest generation biomedical equipment.
As part of the initial process, a delegation of the French consortium PMO, led by Emmanuel Sixdenier, arrived in Arequipa to meet with the regional governor, Rohel Sanchez Sanchez, main manager of this important health work. The delegation also toured the monumental area where the hospital currently operates and the lands destined for the new infrastructure.
During the next two months, a detailed situational analysis of the Goyeneche hospital will be carried out. This process will include meetings with health personnel, the administrative and technical team of the hospital, the Regional Health Management, the Regional Government of Arequipa, as well as with key entities such as the Provincial Municipality and the Ministry of Culture. This is a fundamental step to realize this expected work.
The new Goyeneche hospital will be built on an area of 16,819 square meters and will be integrated with the current hospital, whose historic building, recognized as Cultural Heritage of Humanity, will be restored and preserved.
This transformative project will significantly improve health services in the region, especially benefiting the population of limited resources.
The priority of the PMO consortium is to ensure that medical services continue to operate normally while the new facilities are built and the Gore Arequipa ensures the necessary financing for its optimal operation.
With 113 years of history, the Goyeneche hospital is one of the oldest in Arequipa and serves more than 1.3 million inhabitants, in addition to patients from six other regions of the country. Its modernization will mark a milestone in medical care in southern Peru.
