Strengthening the educational quality, guaranteeing the training of competent professionals and contributing to the economic and social development of Peru are the objectives of the new institutional accreditation model for Institutes and Schools of Higher Technological Education (IEST and EEST) presented today by the Council for the Evaluation, Accreditation and Certification of the Quality of Higher Education Non -University (Coneaces), Operating Body of the Sineace.
This implementation represents a milestone in our commitment to educational quality. In addition to strengthening the training of competent professionals, we ensure that institutions respond to the demands of the productive sector, which contributes to the sustainable development of the country. The Institutional Accreditation Model of Technological Higher Institutes and Schools is aligned with the National Higher and Technical-Productive Education Policy (PNESTP). It focuses on three key dimensions: institutional management, institutional training and linkage results. Its standards evaluate the internal processes of institutions and the quality of training they provide, in addition to their impact on the environment and their ability to respond to the demands of the labor market.
Within the framework of the continuous improvement of technological higher education in the country, the model also emphasizes the development of transverse approaches by educational institutions, such as: interculturality, innovation, environmental sustainability and gender equality, in order to guarantee an accessible, relevant and quality technological higher education for all.
According to the Directorate of Evaluation and Accreditation (DEA-Coneaces), the accreditation provides multiple benefits. For the Institutes and Schools of Higher Technological Education, it represents the recognition of the State to the quality of the educational service they offer, which promotes the increase in tuitions and the confidence of students and parents. It also allows them to receive scholarship students by pronabec and gain visibility to companies linked to their study programs.
In the case of students, he assures them a quality training that increases their job opportunities. It also expands its possibilities for exchange with institutes from other countries and gives them access to greater options for the development of training experiences in real work situations. For companies, hiring graduates of accredited IESS represents a guarantee of having highly trained and competent workers.
As recalled, to obtain accreditation, institutions must demonstrate compliance with quality standards present in the model. Being temporary, its renewal requires a new evaluation process, which ensures continuity in compliance with high standards.
With this new institutional accreditation model, the country takes an important step towards the consolidation of the Quality Route of Technological Higher Education.
