The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) reports that today the assembly of the first modular bridge began, which will allow to recover traffic in km 75 of the Pan American Northern, in Chancay, in the province of Huaral, the objective is to restore what sooner the transit in the area. To do this, the MTC through Nacional Provias, finished completing the transfer to Chancay of all metal structures, with 100 % material for the installation of the first modular bridge.
This metal infrastructure, which will be 60 meters long, a pedestrian catwalk and load capacity of up to 48 tons, will be installed by the Norvial concessionaire first on the bridge that has not been affected. Its installation will culminate within an approximate period of 8 days.
It should be noted that, after a working meeting led by Minister Raul Perez Reyes, with the Norvial company, Ositran, Nacional Provias, Decentalized and Sutran, it was determined that once the Prosecutors Office and the National Police of Peru culminate From the evidence for the corresponding investigations, in order to determine responsibilities, it will proceed with the demolition of the collapsed structure, and the installation of the second modular bridge of the same characteristics, in order to enable traffic in both directions (a lane in the direction ).
Finally, the installation of the structures and the restoration of transitability in the area are in charge of Norvial, as a concessionaire of the National Road Network: Ancon-Huacho-Pativilca, since 2003, being responsible for its operation and maintenance; While, Ositran performs supervision and evaluates compliance with quality standard standards and service on this bridge.
