With this new addition, there are currently more than 450 thousand members of the police health insurance. The health insurance fund of the national police of peru (saludpol), an entity attached to the ministry of the interior (mininter), organized the afiliaton 2024 campaign with the purpose of integrating into its ranks police personnel on active duty, available, retired with the right to a pension, as well as cadets and students of police schools.
In this way, between the months of september and november of this year, more than 6 thousand members of the national police of peru (pnp) managed to join the saludpol insurance, in order to have different benefits such as financing of care or medical procedures in health establishments outside the pnp health service and medical care abroad. in addition, they will be able to receive reimbursement of the costs of medicines purchased in private pharmacies.
The closing ceremony of the afiliaton 2024, held at the pnp technical professional higher education school in puente piedra, was chaired by the vice minister of internal order, cesar guardia, who conveyed the greetings of the minister of the interior, juan jose santivanez, and reaffirmed the sectors commitment to continue working to modernize the police health system.
In this sense, it is important to remember that one of the pillars of the management of minister santivanez antunez is the fight for the rights of the police family. that is why, during his time in office, he has arranged different actions in favor of police officers and their families, among which stands out the increase in the remuneration scale of active and retired personnel of the national police, after 12 years.
At another point in the ceremony, the general manager of saludpol, jose antonio proano, highlighted the success achieved in the afiliaton 2024 campaign with the incorporation of more than 6 thousand members of the pnp to this health insurance.
this achievement is the result of joint work with the pnp schools, and it fills us with pride to know that we are forming a community of trust, based on quality and unwavering commitment to life. to date, we already have more than 450 thousand members at our service, said proano bernaola.
It should be noted that, of the 450,084 members of the saludpol insurance, a total of 232,073 are members of the national police (men and women); while 218,011 are beneficiaries.
