In an interview conducted through the national media "Latina", the General Manager of the PET announced the current water situation in the Tacna region and the different actions that are being executed.
Eng. Vianney Torrez Alferez explained in detail the project that is being executed in Viñani, which is the extraction of the PV-08 well, which will help increase the water supply in the different sectors of the region.
He also indicated that Tacna has been receiving 850 l/s from the Uchusuma transfer and groundwater from the Caplina Aquifer, also highlighting that due to the current demand the region should receive 1100 l/s.
On the other hand, he said that thanks to the support of the Central Government, they are extracting water from Casiri; the Ayro; that has been supporting to alleviate the drought.
Finally, he highlighted that the pumping of two more wells is planned; located very close to the Chilean border, which will contribute around 800 l/s within the framework of the water emergency.
