📋 Tender Overview
The Minister of Environmental Protection, Sara Pavkov, visited today in Pirot the Regional Center for Waste Management and the modern composting facility, where green, biodegradable waste and sludge are treated according to the highest standards.
The minister pointed out that this is a district that leads the way with waste management according to the highest European standards, with the support of the credit line of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the French Development Agency and the Ministry of Environmental Protection. I am extremely satisfied with what I saw today, because together we are setting new standards in the field of environmental protection. The four local governments Pirot, Babusnica, Bela Palanka and Dimitrovgrad gravitate towards the Pirot Regional Center and together they can really be proud of what has been done in a relatively short period of time. Today, I saw the results and how biodegradable and green waste are processed into new usable value, i.e. into high-quality humus. I am especially pleased that there are plans to allow citizens to bring biodegradable waste to this location free of charge, said Pavkov. The minister also pointed out that we are also completing the second sanitary landfill, which shows that every type of waste can be treated responsibly and used as a resource. can be a pioneer for the waste management system not only in Serbia but also in the region. With this project, we are approaching the issue of waste management in a systematic, responsible and long-term way. The modern composting plant, together with the modernization of the regional landfill, sets new standards in life protection, which will significantly improve the quality of life of all our citizens, added Pavkov.
