π Tender Overview
Back 01/04/2026 Work on the Otwock line is gaining momentum - changes in communication are coming. From April 12 to 26, the Fast Urban Railway and Koleje Mazowieckie trains will stop running between Warsaw Wawer and Otwock. Instead of trains, buses will run for two weeks. The reason is the commencement of work on the construction of two additional tracks. All current information can be followed on stolicadobrychrelacji.pl and on the carriers websites. The modernization of the Otwock line is possible thanks to PLN 1.4 billion (net) from the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 program, and the total investment cost is PLN 1.7 billion (net). The most important stage of works between Warsaw Wawer and Otwock begins. On April 12-26, 2026, the contractor - a consortium of Trakcja and Intop - will connect the bypasses with the existing tracks, start the construction of new turnouts and diaphragm walls, and rebuild traffic control devices for the needs of traffic in the next phase of works. Train traffic will be completely suspended during these works. Thanks to this, the most arduous works will take less time, which will enable faster progress to the next stages. During this period, Koleje Mazowieckie and Szybka Kolej Miejska will launch replacement bus services between Warsaw Wawer and Otwock. Buses will stop mainly at existing stops near railway stations. Temporary bus loops will be built at the Warszawa Wawer and Otwock stations, and additional stops will be built in the following locations: - at the height of the temporary railway crossing in Radosc - at the height of the temporary platforms in Radosc - at the height of Klodzka Street on the eastern side of the Falenica tracks - at the height of the temporary platforms in Falenica - at Jana Pawla II Street in Otwock - will serve passengers getting on and off at the Otwock stop Swider. We will also prepare an additional bus bay in Falenica. Temporary platforms for trains ending the run will also be built at the Warszawa Wawer station. Whats next? From April 27, agglomeration trains will return to the tracks, but for the next year traffic will run on one track between Warszawa Miedzylesie and Otwock station - in both directions, with trains passing each other at the Warszawa Falenica station.
