π Tender Overview
Evaluation of indicators such as download and upload speed, latency, packet loss and coverage time, yielded a national average of 79.98%, the best result recorded since the beginning of the measurements.
Entel had the best performance with 80.65%, followed by Claro with 80.44%.
The performance of mobile internet service for 4G networks continues to show an improving trend. In April 2026, the national average reached 79.98%, the best result obtained since the Supervisory Body for Public Investment in Telecommunications (OSIPTEL) began these measurements in May 2024.
This result is obtained from the evaluation of indicators such as download and upload speed, latency, packet loss and coverage time, analyzed from the user experience. This allows us to have a comprehensive view of the performance of the mobile internet service nationwide and provide useful information so that users can make more informed decisions when contracting their service.
According to the analysis by operating companies, in April, Entel obtained a weighted average of 80.65%, followed by Claro (80.44%), Bitel (79.43%) and Movistar (79.04%).
Compared to the previous month, improvements were evident in the weighted performance of Entel (+ 0.07 percentage points) and Movistar (+0.6). Meanwhile, Claro and Bitel registered a decrease after measuring their performance indicators (-0.33 and -0.12, respectively).
At the regional level, the best performances of mobile service were recorded in Tumbes (82.30%), Callao (82.15%) and Lima (81.46%). In contrast, the lowest averages were observed in Huancavelica (78.25%), Apurimac (78.01%), and Loreto (71.87%).
Service indicators
According to information published in Checa tu internetmobile (https://checatuinternetmovil.osiptel.gob.pe/) from OSIPTEL, in April, the average download speed (download) for 4G networks reached 12.82 megabits per second (Mbps), which allows users to browse social networks, make video calls or use mobile applications in appropriate conditions.
For its part, latency, an indicator that measures the time it takes for information to travel through the network, had a national average of 53.44 milliseconds (ms).
Regarding coverage time, the national average was 92.49%, which means that users were connected to 4G networks during the time analyzed, with a better browsing experience of various contents.
Meanwhile, the indicator of data packet loss, whose poor performance can cause the interruption of mobile data or that we receive or send information late, intermittently or incompletely, registered an average of 0.72% at the national level.
Finally, the upload speed indicator had a national average of 3.23 Mbps in April.
