This indicator reflects the mobile lines that have generated or received voice, SMS or data traffic in the most recent quarter, excluding traffic to or from the operators free services.
According to the information reported by the operating companies within the framework of the Periodic Information Requirements Standard (NRIP), Claro registers a 34% market share, followed by Bitel with 24.6%, Movistar with 21.9% and Entel with 19.2%. Virtual mobile operators together account for the remaining 0.3%.
By postpaid and prepaid modalities
Regarding the distribution by user contracting method, the lines with monthly rental (which includes both postpaid and control plan) that carried traffic in the last three months totaled 19.97 million at the end of 2025, more than 52%.
For their part, the lines under the prepaid modality that registered traffic in that same period reached 18.26 million.
At the national level, the total number of active mobile lines in the country (those that are enabled regardless of whether they have had traffic or not), at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, exceeded 43 million.
In this way, the public mobile telecommunications services supervised by OSIPTEL are among the most important in the country. Its national reach includes mobile telephony and messaging (SMS), and mobile internet, which facilitate communication between Peruvians, their families, institutions, the use of social networks, electronic commerce, the use of applications, mobile banking, entertainment and access to information. All of this contributes to development and national cohesion.
