📋 Tender Overview
The Prime Minister of the Government, in charge of Administrative Coordination, Manuel Osa Nsue, continued this Wednesday, December 3, with his agenda of visits to works of social interest in Malabo, a tour that began this Tuesday, with the aim of evaluating on the ground the real state of several public projects. The inspection has revealed serious failures in execution, prolonged abandonment and advanced deterioration in infrastructure intended for citizen well-being.
The Prime Minister of the Government, Manuel Osa Nsue, has resumed this Wednesday, December 3, his supervision tour of different works of social impact in the capital, with the purpose of reviewing unfinished, paralyzed or deteriorated projects over time.
The first stop of the day was the Urbajet Urbanization, a social housing construction project whose execution was only partially done. The construction company in charge abandoned many of the houses unfinished, leaving structures exposed to the elements and now submerged under thick undergrowth that has devoured streets, accesses and common areas.
During his tour of the complex, the Prime Minister was able to see not only the abandonment of the unfinished structures, but also the obvious signs of deterioration and damage that some of the blocks that were completed already present. Among the defects detected, the increasing humidity in the walls, premature cracks and other structural damage caused by the use of low quality materials stand out. The scene has reflected a worrying lack of control and monitoring in the execution of a project that was supposed to offer decent housing to the population.
In this situation, the Prime Ministers instructions have been direct. It has ordered the Ministry of Public Works to move without delay the necessary machinery to brush and clean the entire area, and has demanded a detailed technical report that accurately reflects the situation of the affected blocks. The Government must have real data to make decisions, indicated the Prime Minister.
The second stop has taken the Prime Minister of the Government to the Recycling Training and Examinations Center of the General Directorate of Traffic, an infrastructure designed to improve the training of drivers and officials in the sector completed almost eight years ago, but which has never come into operation. The facilities remain closed, unused, while the public investment allocated to the project continues to fail to fulfill its purpose.
Here, the Person in Charge of Administrative Coordination has instructed the Ministry of the Interior, as guardian body, to immediately prepare an operational plan that allows the installation to be launched without further delays.
This days inspection has culminated in the Andobras Urbanization, another social housing construction project that, despite having advanced in its structure, remains paralyzed and absorbed by the vegetation. Here, more than 132 homes distributed in 7 blocks are in an advanced state of abandonment, with buildings surrounded by weeds and uncontrolled vegetation. The entrances, patios and community areas have practically disappeared among the vegetation, revealing the lack of maintenance and surveillance for years, a panorama that the Prime Minister has described as alarming.
Surprised by the state of the place, he has expressed his concern. The population needs housing and these works are under weeds? he questioned, visibly indignant.
With a blunt tone, he has ordered Public Works to completely clean the area within a maximum period of three days to facilitate access when resuming construction work.
In addition, it has also instructed to submit detailed reports on the status of these stopped works, with the purpose of presenting them for the consideration of the President of the Republic for the adoption of definitive measures.
The Prime Minister has insisted on the importance of recovering these works to guarantee that the resources destined for the social development of the country fulfill their purpose. Its inspection tour will continue in the coming days with the expectation of adopting urgent measures that will allow these infrastructures to be rescued and returned to the public service for which they were designed.
The inspections will continue in the coming days with the purpose of adopting the appropriate measures and guaranteeing efficient management of State resources.
