Stories unknown to others? Areas closed off from passengers? If your answer is yes here is a great free opportunity: with the help of professional tour guides you can explore some special points of the Eastern Railway Station while listening to interesting stories about the buildings past and cultural significance. The highlight of the walk will be visiting the top of the Eastern Railway Station and its peak statue from where there is an unparalleled view of Budapest and the incredibly complex roof structure. The dates will be announced soon. Mini-post next to track 6 The post has always been an inseparable part of holiday preparations with millions of postcards and letters flowing through the country bringing joy to family members and friends living far apart. The railway also played its part in the delivery of parcels as there were previously post tracks and post cars available to forward parcels to various points in the country. The retro joy of sending letters writing postcards and affixing stamps is increasingly less experienced by younger generations and we thought we would try to revive this beautiful tradition - here on Utasellato Day. Our guests can buy stamps at the mini Hungarian Post counter and they can also send the postcards we provide right there with the help of Hungarian Post staff. Craft activities and face painting Next to track 6 we await interested parties with the rolling of beeswax candles and the making of paper trains and fridge magnets while the youngest can choose from the most special patterns at the face painter. Concert on the platform The brass quintet of the MAV Symphony Orchestra will give two concerts: at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The artists repertoire will include Christmas tunes to draw attention to the upcoming holiday.
