π Tender Overview
The government proposes to allocate NOK 100 million in 2025 to start a program for the replacement and modernization of the IT systems in the immigration administration.
- Today's IT systems in the immigration administration are outdated and lack the ability to digitally share information. It does not provide user-friendly services and is an obstacle to more efficient case management. The systems are also becoming increasingly expensive to operate. The modernization is necessary to provide better services for users, more efficient case management, better interaction in the administration, and better control and security, says Minister of Justice and Emergency Services Emilie Enger Mehl (Sp).
It is necessary to tackle the fundamental challenges and put in place long-term solutions for more efficient management. The systems are of great importance for control at the border, for safeguarding social security and facilitating the desired immigration and possible return.
It has been assessed that the program will provide significant socio-economic benefits. New IT systems will provide better services for the user, safer and more cost-effective IT management and free up resources.
The program has a cost frame on cost frame of NOK 2,065 million in 2023 kroner, and it will last until 2031.
