📋 Tender Overview
How can digitalisation contribute to new jobs and value creation throughout the country That was the topic of the meeting of the governments digitization committee this week.In the spring of 2021 the government presented the Storting reports Data as a resource and Our common digital foundation. Both messages point to how digitalisation and the mobile and broadband networks contribute to value creation throughout the country. I am concerned that we must have business development throughout the country and I am sure that digitalisation is the key to this says Prime Minister Erna Solberg.Business development outside the Oslo regionIn the governments digitalisation committee on 11 June attention was focused on two places that have succeeded in attracting ICT candidates establishing jobs and bringing about business development outside the Oslo region - Sogndal and Helgeland.Sogndal uses the interplay between education exciting government jobs nature and outdoor life to attract new residents and businesses. Helgeland pointed out that interaction across actors has been important for success. Both are good examples of how we create attractive vibrant local communities says District and Digitization Minister Linda Hofstad Helleland. In addition to contributions from Campus Sogndal and Kunnskapsparken Helgeland the committee was asked why the companies Rekkje stiutvikling Norconsult and Freyr have chosen to establish operations in these regions. Access to expertiseAccess to qualified people is key when establishing skilled jobs. Tasks that are typically performed by ICT candidates such as software development operations and monitoring customer support and the like can in practice be performed from almost anywhere. Nevertheless a relatively high proportion of ICT candidates - especially in rural areas - are without a job after graduating. The committee heard about Lnekassens experiences with advertising positions with a workplace home office. The experiment is based on the fact that Lnekassen has had challenges in recruiting ICT candidates combined with good experiences of working from different places through the pandemic. It is great that Lanekassen is trying out new methods to find the best ICT candidates. The pandemic has shown us that in many contexts it is possible to work from anywhere. We must take these experiences further says Prime Minister Erna Solberg.
