At the end of the selection process, the board of VAS International Airport Riga approved Normunds Feierberg, the current member of the board of the airport, as a member of the board of the Riga Airport. The nomination committee of the competition established by the airport board nominated two candidates who had obtained the highest number of points in the three rounds of selection for the final decision at the meeting of the board on July 7. In the vote of the council meeting, Normunds Feierbergs was approved as a board member in the field of financial and IT strategic management. In the competition for the position of airport board member in the field of financial and IT strategic management, 24 applications were received. The applicants were evaluated by the nomination committee, which included representatives of the Riga Airport Council, the Capital Companies Management Department of the State Chancellerys Interdepartmental Coordination Department, the Baltic Institute of Corporate Governance, the Riga municipal company Rigas satiksme and the aviation industry, but in the last round the applicants were also evaluated by a staff recruitment consulting company. Before working at the airport, he previously worked as the head of Information Technology Department, vice president of JSC Latvijas Krajbanka and the head of General Banking Services Department, first vice president of JSC UniCredit Bank, as well as held other leading positions in several other capital companies.
