π Tender Overview
The National Center For Cyber Security Under The Ministry Of National Defense (Nksc) Has Carried Out Two Widely Used Cct -Surveillance Cameras In Lithuania And Acti Corporation Cyber Security In Lithuania To Ensure Cyber -Resistance. It Has Shown That The Improperly Used Equipment May Pose A High Level Of Cybersecurity Risks To Both Organizations And Residents. The Imposed Vulnerabilities Make It Possible To Remotely Take Over The Camera Control Or Use It As Access To Other Devices On The Same Network, Such As Computers Or Printers, Says Antanas Aleknavicius, Director Of The Nksc. Open And Unobstructed Ports Are Detected In Geovision Cameras - Technical Connections Through Which Data May Be Sent To The Device. It Is Also Possible To Access Some Of The Device Information Without Password. The Study Revealed That Obsolete Technologies, Such As Activex, Are Used In Acti Corporation Equipment, Which Are Considered Insecure In The Contemporary Context. Such Technologies Have Gaps That Allow You To Insert A Harmful Code When Connecting To The Camera. In Addition, The Undocumented Ports (6001, 6002 And 20189), Which Can Be Exhausted For Cyber Attacks, Are Detected. Although The Exact Purpose Of These Ports Remains Unclear, It Is Not Excluded That They Can Be Used For Various Malicious Purposes, From Unauthorized Listening Channels Or Unauthorized Software Installation To The Takeover Of Cameras. It Is Also Not Excluded That The Undocumented Ports Can Be Safe, But At The Moment The Nksc Does Not Have Sufficient Information To Confirm It. The Nksc Points Out That The Vulnerabilities Found In Both Manufacturers Cameras Are A Threat To Data Security, And The Risk Level Of The Devices Themselves Is Assessed As High, Especially If The Cameras Are Not Installed In The Latest Version Of The Software. In Addition, Some Of The Devices Are Made In Taiwan And China. Although This Does Not Necessarily Mean The Threat To Security, Such Addiction Increases The Risks Associated With The Reliability Of Third Party Supply Circuits And The Quality Of The Software. Nksc Experts Also Emphasize That The Study Was Carried Out Under Laboratory Conditions, And In Real Circumstances, These Risks Can Be Significantly Reduced In The Real Circumstances. In Order To Help Organizations And Residents Protect Against Security Risks On Cctv Cameras, The Nksc Recommends Using Closed Or Insulated Internal Networks For Cctv, Installing Firewalls And Other Network Filters, Regularly Upgrading Software, Abandoning Obsolete Controls, Applying Strong Authentication And Encryption.
