More specialized, transparent environmental certifications with digital innovation.New skills at the service of the country Starting today, July 10, within the framework of the provisions of Supreme Decree No. 006-2026-MINAM, Senace assumes the functions for the review and approval of the semi-detailed Environmental Impact Studies (EIA-sd) of the Transportation subsector of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), essential instruments to promote the sustainable development and growth of the country.
In addition, the transfer includes the functions of review and approval of the updates and/or modifications of the EIA-sd, the Supporting Technical Reports (ITS), Terms of Reference (ToR), Citizen Participation Plan (PPC) and other related acts or procedures, including support in the preparation of the Baseline.
The rule was issued in May of this year and established 45 business days, counted from its effectiveness, to complete the process of transferring functions. The deadlines were met punctually.
In this way, an important step is taken for the specialized environmental certification of the Transport EIA-sd and the associated environmental management instruments, in a technical, transparent manner, with digital innovation and citizen participation.
The EIA-sd is the environmental instrument that evaluates investment projects whose execution may cause moderate negative environmental impacts. These include infrastructure projects to promote the development of regions and strengthen peoples quality of life, protecting the environment and social environments.
