Entering the new spring of 2026, when the double-digit growth target is set for the economy, the story is no longer just the scale of turnover, but the quality and durability of growth. This is the key factor for the textile and garment industry to contribute to the double-digit GDP growth target - Photo: VGP/Giang Oanh In 2025, surplus growth will reach about 10%, contributing to the double-digit GDP growth target Sir, as a leading enterprise in the textile and garment industry, the Group Vietnam Textile and Garment (Vinatex) not only focuses on production and business efficiency but is also associated with larger goals such as stabilizing employment, export growth and contributing to the national budget. Please tell us about the Groups contributions to socio-economic development in 2025? Mr. Le Tien Truong: The year 2025 marks an important milestone for Vietnams textile and garment industry when the industrys export turnover reaches about 46 billion USD, thereby continuing to maintain its position as the second largest textile and garment exporting country in the world. However, what is worth noting is not only the scale of turnover, but the value structure of the industry. Among Vietnams key export industries today, textile and garment is the industry with the highest rate of domestic added value, with nearly 23 billion USD retained domestically. If considered purely in terms of total turnover, textile and garment ranks fourth among export industries. But if we consider the real value created in Vietnam, including wages, corporate profits, budget contributions and spillover to supporting industries... then it can be said that textiles and garments are in the leading position in the export production industries of the economy. As for Vietnam Textile and Garment Group, in 2025 we will continue to maintain a workforce of about 150,000 people, including member units and subsidiaries in the system. The Groups ecology. The total combined export turnover is approximately 4.5 billion USD, accounting for about 10% of the countrys textile and garment export turnover. It is worth mentioning that Vinatexs workforce only accounts for about 6% of the entire industrys workforce, but creates up to 10% of export turnover. This shows that the average labor productivity at the Groups units is about 30-40% higher than the industry average. This is a very important indicator, reflecting a real shift in growth quality. Vinatexs largest and most sustainable contribution in 2025 is still ensuring jobs and income for workers. The average salary of the entire Group reached 11.7 million VND/person/month. The total salary fund paid in the year exceeded 21,000 billion VND. In addition, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance contributions reached over 4,000 billion VND. Regarding budget obligations, taxes (including land tax and especially corporate income tax) reached more than 2,000 billion VND. Thus, the total value that Vinatex directly contributes to workers and the state budget in 2025 is estimated at about VND 27,000 billion. This is even more meaningful when the Groups equity is currently only about 10,000 billion VND, showing the efficiency of capital use and the ability to create widespread value. Another important highlight in 2025 is Vinatex setting a new record for consolidated profit, reaching approximately 1,500 billion VND. The rate of return on charter capital reached nearly 30% - a very high number in the textile industry, even when compared to foreign-invested enterprises or large private enterprises. This effect is also recognized by the capital market. Currently, some Vinatex member units have stock prices among the highest in the textile and garment market, typically Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation - an enterprise with a stock value exceeding that of many listed private and FDI enterprises. We think that Vinatexs most important contribution in 2025 lies not only in scale growth, but in quality growth. Specifically, the average salary growth rate of workers is approximately 13% - higher than the overall growth rate of the economy. Wages are a direct contributor to GDP, so rapid and sustainable wage growth is of great significance. In addition, with an export turnover of 4.5 billion USD and a reasonable import structure, the Group has retained about 2.2 billion USD of added value domestically, creating a significant import-export surplus. The surplus growth rate is about 10%. This is the key factor for the textile and garment industry to contribute to the double-digit GDP growth target, instead of just chasing nominal turnover. In 2025, what has Vinatex done to maintain orders in the context that global purchasing power has not recovered strongly, sir? Mr. Le Tien Truong: Over the past 10 years, the average growth rate of the world textile and garment market has only been about 1.7%/year. This shows that if we only rely on increased market demand, it is very difficult to achieve high growth goals. Therefore, the growth of Vietnams textile and garment industry must be based on increasing market share and expanding presence in different markets. By 2025, Vietnamese textile and garment products will be present in more than 130 markets globally. The main market is still the United Stat
