πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

The state has set the funding conditions for multi-risk insurance from the application year 2026. The expansion of the funding program to include the risk of hail and hop cultivation strengthens risk prevention in agriculture. Baden-Wurttemberg is the first state in the country to provide support and insurance premiums against the risks of late frost, storms and heavy rain. From the application year 2026, there will also be the risk of hail and hop cultivation, which will become part of the insurance. This will help us strengthen the risk prevention of the people themselves by taking additional risks and cultures into account, which increases the liquidity and livelihood security of the companies and contributes to securing value creation, said the Minister for Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection. Funding conditions from 2026 From the application year 2026 onwards, insurance premiums for crop yield insurance for cultivated areas in Baden-Wurttemberg against the risks of hail, severe frost, storms and heavy rain for fruit, wine and hop growing crops will be funded. In the future, at least two of the eligible risks must be insured for each cultural group in order to ensure broad coverage. The risks can be freely chosen for each cultural group. The insurance of individual risks is no longer eligible. The insurance can be taken out for one or more crop groups or crop types of the agricultural company, although the cultivated areas of a crop group may only be insured with one insurance company. Dividing the cultivated areas of a crop group between several insurance companies is excluded from funding. The maximum eligible hectare value for hops is set at 15,000 euros. The funding rate remains the same. The other funding requirements such as deductible, maximum payout amount, minimum area and the maximum eligible hectare values (insured sums) of the other eligible cultural groups remain unchanged. Deviations from these requirements are generally possible, but are only eligible for funding up to the limits set out in the requirements. The funding rate also remains unchanged at up to 50 percent of the eligible insurance premium. Minister Hauk explained: Multi-risk insurance is an important instrument for making our businesses weather and risk-resistant. By expanding to include additional risks and cultural groups, we are taking an important step to protect our special crop businesses against increasing weather extremes. With the minimum requirement of two risks per cultural group, we are creating robust insurance and planning security for the businesses. Finally, Minister Hauk appealed to companies: Make use of the funding opportunities and protect your income against additional risks. This also makes an important contribution to securing operational and regional added value. Funding program for multi-risk insurance, which Baden-Wurttemberg launched in 2020 as the first state in the country, will be expanded to include the risk of hail and hop cultivation from the application year 2026. In order to make the further development of the multi-risk insurance funding program practical and efficient, an intensive exchange took place in advance with the agricultural professional associations and the insurance industry.
