The municipal council believes it is important that our municipal sports facilities remain up to standard. Sports connects people and facilities are also important to keep all residents vital and healthy. There are costs associated with this. The contribution made by the municipality and associations to this is laid down in the Rate Note for Sports Facilities. This year it was examined after a careful process. And on the basis of independent advice the council is now proposing to the municipal council to adjust the rates and fees. This proposal will be discussed by the city council in January.It was also time to evaluate the tariff memorandum. This dates from 2007. In almost 15 years there have been various developments and changes that affect the municipal indoor and outdoor sports facilities and therefore also the rates. Drijver en Partners an independent consultancy with a great deal of experience in this field carried out the evaluation. All sports associations are involved in this. For example a benchmark was performed and all information obtained was processed in a draft report which was discussed again with all those involved in October. Earlier this month Drijver and Partner completed the report and provided clear advice on rates and fees. Keep upIt is important that sports facilities are maintained jointly. The tariff memorandum states that approximately 30 percent of the costs are borne by the associations themselves the other 70 percent is paid by the municipality. Advice is to increase the indoor sports rates and make some changes to the fees that are provided to outdoor sports associations. In this way facilities can be better maintained and we are more in line with the rates in the region. It also becomes clearer which considerations are linked to the fees and there are fewer exceptions.Discussion in councilIt is the municipal council that decides on future rates and fees. The council proposal will be discussed during a council forum on Thursday 13 January. All the associations and bodies involved have now received the report and the council proposal.
