There is probably labor exploitation at a catering facility in Numansdorp. This emerged during an inspection by the Dutch Labor Inspectorate together with the municipality the Zuid-Holland Zuid Environment Agency the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority NVWA Immigration and Naturalization Service IND and the police.The inspection took place on Tuesday 22 February. During the inspection inspectors from the Labor Inspectorate found that 2 cooks who work at the catering facility were in any case underpaid and worked long hours.The interviews conducted on the spot also showed that they were sleeping in the workplace that their cooking diplomas bank cards and ID had been taken away and that they were in a situation of dependence on their employer. The cooks could use the dishwashing area as washing facilities.For the inspectors this was an indication that this may be a case of labor exploitation. Reason enough for the detectives of the Labor Inspectorate to come to the scene and take over the investigation. The 2 cooks have been relocated by the Labor Inspectorate.
