When the Wkb Quality Assurance Act comes into effect on 1 July next year the necessary changes will be made to the supervision of construction projects. The municipality is prepared for this and is looking for initiatives to start working according to the new procedure. This offers builders the advantage that they learn to work with the future rules.In short the Wkb comes down to this the municipality still carries out all checks on the rules from the Building Decree. This will be outsourced to an external body from 1 July 2022. This concerns new construction renovation or extension of one or more land-bound homes. The new law does not apply to apartment complexes for example.More extensive checks yields certificateThe so-called Quality Assurer carries out the checks more extensively than the municipality. This way there is more guarantee that everything meets the requirements of the Building Decree. Afterwards a quality certificate is issued for the house by the quality guarantor. Participate in pilot projectAnyone who is about to apply for a permit for the construction or renovation of one or more homes can register this project as a pilot project under the Wkb. In this way the municipality and builders can practice with this new way of monitoring. Participation does not cost any extra money.
