The Limburg Housing Monitor of 2022 is ready. This annual report is full of valuable information about the Limburg housing market. The housing stock must meet current and future needs. The starting point is the right home at the right time in the right place The Housing Monitor was drawn up by the Province of Limburg with input from the Limburg municipalities.Deputy Lia Roefs Housing Spatial Planning Water and Agriculture With the National Housing and Building Agenda the national government wants to reduce the housing shortage throughout the Netherlands. The national task concerns the construction of 900000 homes up to and including 2030. The Limburg authorities corporations and market parties are jointly committed to the realization of 26550 homes in the coming years. This number is partly based on the results of the Housing Monitor and is in line with Limburgs building task. On top of that there is room for regional ambitions. Limburg also wants to stick its neck out and wants to take over the construction task of those provinces that cannot realize their task. Limburg is also prepared to make agreements with the national government about the construction of 20000 additional homes.Based on this updated Housing Monitor it can be stated that the line of the Limburg Housing Agenda 2020-2023 Accelerate strengthen and persevere can and must be continued. The average over the last five years is more than 2350 homes per year. In 2021 construction output was above average but lower than in 2020 when the housing stock in Limburg rose by more than 3400 homes.Many new housing plans have been developed in 2021. These new plans envisage the realization of nearly 11350 homes.
