📋 Tender Overview
The Province of Limburg wants to contribute 750000 to the Kuukven housing developments in Baarlo and Antoniushof former truck parking lot in Kessel. On 28 February 2023 deputy Lia Roefs and alderman Rob Wanten signed the second cooperation agenda Framework for Quality Limburg Centres Peel en Maas. In this way the Province contributes to accelerating the much-needed housing plans in Baarlo and Kessel and to the improvement of the living and living environment.Housing plan KuukvenTogether with housing corporation Wonen Limburg we are developing a housing plan where you can live affordably and village-wise with extra attention and space for climate and a future-proof green living environment says Rob Wanten. This plan means a lot to Baarlo. By building new homes young and old can find a suitable home. It also ensures a flow in the housing market. In Baarlo the need for affordable social rental housing and owner-occupied homes is great. With this plan a large part of that need is fulfilled. More than 100 homes are planned. Last month the city council of Peel en Maas made an extra preparation credit available to further develop the plans for Kuukven. At the same time the level of ambition for this project was confirmed in terms of quality and affordability of housing quality of living environment mixed neighbourhoods greenery biodiversity and being prepared for a changing climate.Due to the level of ambition this project is likely to be shortfallen. The financial contribution from the province is therefore extra welcome says Wanten. It is truly an investment in the future of Baarlo in the enjoyment of living for the people who will soon live there and in the surrounding area. In doing so we are setting a good example in what the districts of the future should look like as far as we are concerned. And we are now doing it right in one go so that we avoid future adjustments in for example water collection or water storage.Antoniushof truck parkingThere is also a need for affordable social rental housing and owner-occupied homes in Kessel. Together with housing corporation Antares a plan is being developed for 27 homes. The life-cycle-proof homes are for rental and sale. This development which we are taking on together with Antares is also highly desirable says Rob Wanten. It is good to see that the housing corporations at various locations in Peel en Maas are working with us to realize new social rental housing even at a time when this is becoming financially more difficult. It is good that the Province of Limburg sees the importance of these plans for our cores and contributes to the realization. In this way together we ensure that it is also good to live in Peel en Maas in the future. For deputy Lia Roefs Housing Water Space and Agriculture it is especially important that the municipality of Peel en Maas provides affordable housing for target groups such as starters young families and seniors. In Limburg as in the whole of the Netherlands there is a particular need for affordable housing. If we do not pay extra attention to this many people will not be able to enter the housing market or move on to a more suitable home for their phase of life. I am therefore pleased that for example the plan in Kessel consists entirely of social rental housing and cheap owner-occupied homes for both young people and seniors. For the municipality of Peel en Maas this second Cooperation Agenda for Quality Limburg Centres with the Province accelerates housing projects. Deputy Roefs After an earlier Cooperation Agenda for Panningen conversion of a former VMBO school Peel en Maas is now once again showing that with a little financial help it can accelerate housing plans again. We desperately need that in this day and age.
