In order to maximize the chances of young people on the labor market the municipality has reopened the subsidy scheme for the Future Fund for the Education-Labour Market.With this scheme educational institutions and companies in Amersfoort can apply for subsidies for one- or two-year projects that improve the connection between education and practice. The municipality is making 200000 available. Grants can be applied for up to and including 1 April.Boost functionEducational institutions the business community and the municipality have been working closely together since 2016 to improve the connection between education and the labor market in Amersfoort and the region. A joint Education-Labour Market Agenda has been drawn up for this purpose. The Future Fund is in line with this agenda and has a boosting function in this regard.Young people receive training that is more in line with practice which increases their chances on the labor market. In addition it is easier for companies to find suitable personnel which strengthens their growth opportunities and offers the Amersfoort region economic opportunities.
