📋 Tender Overview
From 1 August all new energy labels will state whether the insulation of the house meets the Standard for insulation. If that is the case then the house is ready for a future without natural gas. The Standard for insulation indicates whether the house is insulated well enough. In many cases the home can be connected to a heat pump or a heat network. With the indication on the label potential buyers see to what extent improvements are still necessary to the home for heating without natural gas. This way they can take this into account when purchasing and financing.Standard for home insulationThe Standard for home insulation was presented by the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations earlier this year . By now also presenting the Standard prominently on the energy label the minister wants to give home owners tools to properly insulate their homes. So that they can prepare for a future without natural gas.The Standard for home insulation will be on all new energy labels from 1 August. From 1 September homeowners can download their labels that were registered between 1 January and 1 August including a listing from MijnOverheid.Climate AgreementBoth the Standard for home insulation and its indication on the energy label derive from the Climate Agreement . In it it was agreed to make 1.5 million homes more sustainable before 2030 and to help consumers as much as possible.Heat loss from homesA home loses heat through exterior walls floors roofs windows and doors. If the house is well insulated the loss is small. If the house meets the Standard then in many cases the house is ready for the switch to a sustainable heat supply in terms of insulation crack sealing and ventilation. In most cases no major adjustments to the heating are required anymore.Difference in architectural characteristicsThe Standard takes into account the architectural characteristics of the home. For example homes built before 1945 often do not have a cavity wall. The Standard is therefore less strict for these homes than for homes built after 1945.Insulating to the Standard of homes built after 1945 ensures that they are suitable for connection to a sustainable heat source with a lower supply temperature 50 degrees. Homes built before 1945 that comply with the Standard can be connected to a heat source with a minimum supply temperature of 70 degrees.Target values for individual building componentsIn addition to a Standard for the entire house there are also target values for individual building parts. These target values are intended to provide a future-proof reference for a single building component such as roof floor or windows. Insulating a building component to this target value ensures that this building component is sufficiently insulated and does not need to be insulated again in the future. If all building components are insulated to the target value the Standard for home insulation has been amply achieved. These target values are also stated on the energy label.
