Pupils of the Bredero School and Christian School Community CSG Augustinus received the Education Prize Groningen on Friday March 4 2022 from the Deputy Tjeerd van Dekken. The Brederoschool Groningen received the prize in the primary education category for the outdoors project which offers space for various outdoor activities for students. CSG Augustinus Groningen scored highly in the secondary education category with a project in which students reflect on the situation of the homeless.secondary schoolIn the context of talent development and equality of opportunity the Bredero School wants to offer a wide range of education. Under the motto bad weather does not exist but bad clothing does outdoor lessons are given. In the lessons a lot is discovered and experimented with. Pupils purify water make fire build huts but also do research into what kinds of plants and animals live in the school environment. For example they place cameras create eating spots and see if there are plants that you can eat or use for a dish.CSG Augustine Pupils of CSG Augustinus have immersed themselves in the world of the homeless in all sorts of ways by reading a novel about the theme attending poetry workshops and writing columns poems and interviews which have been published in the street newspaper. All experiences have been incorporated into the end product a reflection report. With the project CSG Augustinus wants to show students that there are many prejudices about homeless people and that anyone can become homeless.National Education AwardWith the National Education Award the National Education Week Foundation draws attention to education. Special projects are put in the spotlight. In this way the organization shows how versatile Dutch education is and with how much effort and enthusiasm people work. The festive denouement attended by all provincial winners from primary and secondary education will take place during the national final in March 2022.
