'Carnival, you get happy when you see it. It's really all kinds of things, but it's not hygienic', Sam de Vries sings. And last year we noticed that. That is why NS deploys about 250 extra cleaners during carnival to keep the trains and stations clean. In addition, our conductors will ask more to take waste from the train. And of course the call is: keep the trains and stations clean.
Extra employees were deployed for both day and night cleaning. More teams will also be deployed to clean trains at night after the timetable. And extra people will be deployed to the national Coordination and Adjustment Team of the cleaning companies that NS works with. In this way, reports from passengers can be forwarded quickly so that a train can still be cleaned.
At many stations there are extra waste bins and containers and more cleaning is done. In addition, toilets are open longer and there are pee crosses around the station. However, it can still happen that not all trains or stations are completely clean. There's a lot of dirt to clean up. So help out, and throw your trash in the bins.

Of course, we will make sure that you can celebrate safely and come home safely, because #NSisdeBOB. Hundreds of train drivers, Safety & Service employees, conductors and other NS employees are ready to make Carnival a success.
We are running a lot of extra trains and we are making a lot of last trains longer. Between Breda and Rotterdam, extra trains will be used in the night from Saturday to Sunday. All stations in Brabant and Weert station will be served at least twice an hour during the carnival weekend. Always check the NS journey planner before departure.
Princely trains
In eight places, NS will bring the prince to the party by train. On Saturday the entries are in Tilburg, Eindhoven, Maastricht, Vught, Heerlen, and Roosendaal. On Sunday, Amadeiro XXVI arrives at Oeteldonk Centraol ('s-Hertogenbosch) at 11.11 a.m. sharp. This year, the Prince will also arrive in Zwolle by train.
In addition to the royal transport, NS will welcome the princes at the stations and receive the official prince's necklace.
In the NS app, you can simply click on the carnival name of the place you need to search for. 101 places can be found under their carnival names, such as Kruikenstad, Kielegat and Tulpetaonestad. But it also includes cities above the rivers, such as Boemeldam (Purmerend) to Waaienburg (Den Helder).
