📋 Tender Overview

Amsterdam and the Ministry of Justice Security will start on 1 March 2019 with the National Immigration Provision LVV pilot. At the end of last year it became known that Amsterdam is one of the five intended municipalities for the pilot in which undocumented migrants are cared for. The State Secretary has recently made separate agreements with the five municipalities about the various pilots. The first covenant was concluded with Amsterdam. The final covenants between the central government and the pilot municipalities will be signed at the end of March. In Amsterdam the Implementation Plan for undocumented migrants is central to setting up the LVV pilot. It states that Amsterdam will accommodate 500 undocumented migrants for a maximum of one and a half years. It has been agreed with the State Secretary that the reception of 360 undocumented migrants will take place in the LVV pilot. Amsterdam realizes the remaining places. During the reception period working on perspective is central. Rutger Groot Wassink alderman for refugees and undocumented migrants The conclusion of a covenant with the state secretary is an important breakthrough in the years of lingering discussion about the reception of undocumented migrants. Undocumented people usually live in the margins with little to no prospect of improving their situation. Research shows that a stable living environment In no more than one and a half years we work together with our partners and the undocumented people on perspective. Also a covenant for Dublin claimantsIn addition to the LVV covenant Amsterdam and the Repatriation Departure Service DT V have stated that they are cooperating to improve the Dublin claimants process. Together with the Dublin claimants follow-up steps are being investigated. The municipality of Amsterdam will not cooperate with forced expulsion. As in the LVV pilot we focus on voluntary independent return. Through the collaboration we hope to achieve a better situation for Dublin claimants than in the current situation.HousingAt present the feasibility of different locations for the reception of undocumented migrants in the city is being investigated. The college has expressed a preference for small-scale locations of 50 to 80 people. The college aims to have 500 spots available on 1 July 2019. Due to the size of the assignment to find small-scale locations it may be that first a number of larger locations will be started.
