The President of the CORPAC Board of Directors, Freddy Solano Gonzalez, was received by the Mayor of Cusco, Luis Pantoja Calvo, with whom he discussed the rehabilitation works that the Alejandro Velasco Astete Airport needs to strengthen security, operational continuity and quality of service for the almost 5 million passengers who travel through the air terminal annually.
Likewise, both officials agreed to highlight the importance of joint work between State entities and the private sector in order to achieve the objectives that benefit citizens.
During the meeting held at the Municipal Palace of Cusco, the head of the CORPAC Board of Directors also explained that the rehabilitation of the passenger terminal responds to a technical and operational evaluation that shows the need to improve the infrastructure of the second most important airport in the country in passenger volume, while the entry into operation of the new Chinchero International Airport is finalized.
The General Manager (e) of CORPAC, Jose Luis Lopez Guzman, and the Central Manager of Air Navigation, Victor Cerna Huarachi, also participated in the meeting.
For his part, the mayor of Cusco thanked the CORPAC Senior Management for the visit and expressed his support for the rehabilitation works, which are necessary to reinforce the infrastructure of the second most important airport in Peru.
