π Tender Overview
The work, which will be carried out by Provias Nacional, will replace a provisional bridge in Villa Rica and improve connectivity and road safety in the central jungle. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), through Provias Nacional, approved the Definitive Engineering Study (EDI) for the construction of the Puellas bridge and its accesses, in the district of Villa Rica, province of Oxapampa, Pasco region.
The approval will make way for a key work to strengthen connectivity and improve walkability in the central jungle.
The project will require an investment of S/ 43,490,762 and will be executed on the national route PE-05N, in the section between kilometers 82 and 83, crossing the Puellas ravine, in a strategic area located on the right bank of the Cacazu River.
Currently, the crossing is carried out through a temporary Bailey-type metal bridge 52 meters long. The new infrastructure includes the construction of a 75-meter-span metal arch bridge, with two lanes and a reinforced concrete slab, which will improve road safety and expand vehicular traffic capacity.
The intervention also includes complementary works, including improving access, widening the road, construction of culverts and riverside protection work using gabions, with the aim of reducing risks from overflows and weather events.
Likewise, the new road will have better technical standards. The width of the road will increase to 6.60 meters and the design speed will increase from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, optimizing circulation conditions for transporters and users.
The definitive study was prepared by the company HOB Consultores S.A., within the framework of Contract No. 141-2018-MTC/20.1 signed with Provias Nacional.
With this approval, the MTC and Provias Nacional reaffirm their commitment to promoting road infrastructure projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the population and strengthening the integration of the countrys regions.
